Having been a big fan of grandfather longcase clocks in England, I have taken a real shine to the local equivalent clocks in the Morvan. We almost chose a different house to buy because one was included in the price.
Last week, I decided one would be a great feature for Le Tandem so we started googling and found that they are called comtoise clocks which is taken from their origins in the region of Franche-Comté. After searching Bon Coin online, we identified 2 that seemed to be a good price even if I would need to do a bit of renovation to them. Needless to say, we now own 2 comtoise clocks because they were both in nice condition and local as one was made in Digoin and the other is from Autun.
